A week ago, Pottermore announced the publication of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, in other words… HARRY POTTER #8! But… don’t get too excited. This isn’t exactly a novel written by J.K Rowling. Supposedly Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a play written by Jack Thorne based on a story by J.K Rowling. Before you become completely disappointed, let me remind you, the originally story was written by J.K Rowling (and a few others but that’s not important). If J.K Rowling approves the story, then to me, that is good enough. Can’t you tell that I am desperate for another Harry Potter story!
The story takes place nineteen years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Harry Potter works for the Ministry of Magic and is an overworked employee coming to grips with his dark past, meanwhile Harry’s son Albus must come to terms with being the son of a famous wizard. “As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.” (1)
The play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is set to open on July 30, 2016 in London. For those (like me) who do not live in the U.K and cannot afford a plane ticket (like me), you can be contented with the script’s publication on July 31, 2016. The synopsis is very vague at this moment, but it sounds very promising!
Until next time,
